2009-2010 NHL Playoff Power Rankings

RankTeamNotes
1.They are here because, well, they are the defending champions. The first round for them will be tough but the Kid is playing great.
2.A lot is riding on this club. Ovi better show up big time when it matters or this team won't make it to the Cup.
3.Once a Cup favorite now, they are looking like their old selves again come playoff time. Its a shame really, they had such potential.
4.Young club again back in the playoffs. This may be the year, but a tough West playoff bracket has it looking grim.
5.Clinching second seed was the best thing to happen to this club. Looks like Brodeur is up to par and so is the club.
6.Word on the street is that this bunch is really something. A tough first round should set the stage for them to be Cinderellas or busts.
7.Just when we all thought they were all but out. They play incredible hockey, jump from ninth to fifth in the final weeks, and found out that this rookie goalie is the real deal. Who are these guys?
8.Playoffs in LA just got more interesting. I'm referring to the Lakers. This club isn't ready mentally for the long overhaul. Not yet.
9.Losing to the Devils with the second seed on the line and injuries to star players, Connolly and Vanek, doesn't make it look too bright in upstate New York.
10.Luongo has looked lost and so has Vancouver. It shouldn't have been like this because they seemed poised to push it all this year.
11.After catching up to Buffalo, they managed a solid finish and have a tough first round with Pittsburgh. It's all or nothing from this club, who still have no Cup.
12.If things couldn't have gotten any better for the Bs, they face rival Buffalo in the first round, who they basically manhandled during the regular season.
13.Once upon a time, this club was closing in on the leaders in their division. Where did it all go to?
14.Another early exit spells doom in the Music city. Here's some good news though - Albert Haynesworth is possibly going back to the Titans.
15.Just barely keeping it together shows that this club has spunk. But facing San Jose will surely seal the deal for the Avs.
16.With all the injuries and lackluster efforts, don't expect much from these guys.
